CLARITY

What is Experiential Counselling?
I offer a unique blend of Counselling and Psychotherapy, along wth tools and techniques from Hypnotherapy, NLP, Mindfulness and CBT. I treat you as an individual - my therapy is not a one-size-fits all model. We will do an assessment initially and find a way forward that works for you. It is a safe and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I implement techniques that can help you better understand yourself, work through difficulties, and develop healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges.
Counselling, Psychotherapy or Hypnosis?
Although the terms are often used together, they describe slightly different approaches:
Counselling is often focused on specific issues or current difficulties, such as stress, relationship problems, loss, anxiety, or life transitions. It can help you gain clarity, process emotions, and find ways forward.
Psychotherapy tends to explore deeper or longer-standing patterns, including how past experiences may be influencing your present life, relationships, or sense of self. It can support long-term personal growth, emotional healing, and lasting change.
In practice, both counselling and psychotherapy are collaborative processes. You are not given advice or judged. Instead, I work alongside you, listening carefully and helping you reflect, make sense of your experiences, and find your own answers at a pace that feels right for you.
People seek counselling or psychotherapy for many reasons, including:
-
Anxiety, depression, or low mood
-
Stress or burnout
-
Relationship or family difficulties
-
Loss, grief, or trauma
-
Low self-esteem or confidence
-
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected
You do not need to be in crisis to benefit. Many people come simply to understand themselves better or to create positive change in their lives.
Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) focuses on clear, achievable goals and positive change. Rather than exploring past problems, sessions centre on what the client wants to achieve and how they’ll know things are improving.
My clients enter a deeply relaxed state where the subconscious mind is more open to positive suggestions, helping reinforce new behaviours and solutions. Therapy builds on clients’ strengths and past successes, and I often incorporate techniques from CBT and NLP.
SFH is brief, practical, and collaborative, aiming for meaningful progress in a short time. By focusing on the present and future, it empowers clients to reduce stress and anxiety, develop realistic strategies, and move confidently towards their preferred future.
